Energy Efficient Filtering Using Adaptive Precision and Variable Voltage
نویسندگان
چکیده
A Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter architecture based on a Distributed Arithmetic (DA) approach with two supply voltages and variable bit precision operation is presented. The filter is able to adapt itself to the minimum bit precision required by the incoming data and also operate at a lower voltage so that it still meets a fixed throughput constraint. As opposed to the worst case fixed precision design, our precision-on-demand implementation has an energy requirement that varies linearly with the average bit precision required by the input signal. We also demonstrate that 50% to 60% energy savings can easily be obtained in the case of speech data.

Compensation of Voltage and Current Harmonics in Hybrid Renewable Energy System Using Coordinated Power Control of RES Inverter
In this paper, an adaptive control strategy is proposed for the inverters of renewable energy source (RES) to simultaneously control the load voltage, grid current and the amount of instantaneous injected power to the grid in the presence of grid voltage distortions and nonlinearity of load current. In the proposed control strategy, the power quality of the local load can be settled based on th...
متن کاملDynamic Voltage Scheduling Using Adaptive Filtering of Workload Traces
An adaptive approach for dynamic voltage scheduling on processors is presented based on workload prediction by filtering a trace history. The effects of update frequency and filtering strategy on the energy savings is analyzed. A performance hit metric is defined and techniques to minimize energy under a given performance requirement are outlined. Our results demonstrate that up to two orders o...

Due to widespread use of Global Positioning System (GPS) in different applications, the issue of GPS signal interference cancelation is becoming an increasing concern. One of the most important intentional interferences is spoofing signals. An effective interference (delay spoof) reduction method based on adaptive filtering is developed in this paper. The principle of method is using adaptive f...

متن کاملUsing the Adaptive Frequency Nonlinear Oscillator for Earning an Energy Efficient Motion Pattern in a Leg- Like Stretchable Pendulum by Exploiting the Resonant Mode
In this paper we investigate a biological framework to generate and adapt a motion pattern so that can be energy efficient. In fact, the motion pattern in legged animals and human emerges among interaction between a central pattern generator neural network called CPG and the musculoskeletal system. Here, we model this neuro - musculoskeletal system by means of a leg - like mechanical system cal...
